The Art

Although I’m a writer and published author, I am definitely not a painter. But I’ve always had a clear vision of what I want to see in an image—the colors, the mood, the small emotional details that make a picture feel like a memory. I can’t draw or paint, but I grew up surrounded by people who could. My mother filled our home with her art: seascapes, bowls of fruit, angels, and the cutest, funniest drawings of animals. My brother grew up drawing portraits with incredible talent.

For this first Cozyville launch, I knew I wanted the artwork to feel personal, so I asked the two people who shaped my creative eye the most, my mother and my brother to help me bring these collections to life. Their influence is in every card. I even made sure to include several collections featuring anthropomorphic animals as a fun nod to my mother’s sense of whimsy. And the A Remote Control Plane Christmas Collection exists because of my brother, an avid RC airplane pilot with a large following on Youtube. I created it especially for him and his RC airplane community.

As Cozyville grows, I’ll also be working with freelance artists whose styles inspire me. Many will be spotlighted on our blog so you can get to know the talented people who help bring these stories and scenes to life.
